Bird control netting- bird control netting is the best product for metal awnings or roofs riddled with sprinkler systems or  with very closely spaced support beams. In addition, it is the best option for open-air carports or airplane hangars with lots of small nooks and crannies or several entry doors.  Hangers with only one entry may be done with electric barrier. Netting is very appropriate with sparrow problems in small spaces under awnings or metal buildings. Netting is typically overused in most bird control applications. Frequently birds will get into the nets, but they can't get out. The birds are left to starve, dehydrate, overheat, or freeze.

There are three problems with bird control netting. The first is even though it's a great blocking barrier; however, it also may block out access to lights or other critical components that workers need access on a regular basis. This may make netting completely inefficient. The second problem with netting is the shadow it creates may not look very good. The third problem is the framing of the netting is frequently unsightly. Finally, netting is a great blocking bird control device, unfortunately it does not alter the behavior of the birds it merely blocks them from an area. This means that the birds frequently find a way to still roost on a ledge, parapet, or sign with the costly netting job with it simply not fully working to relocate the birds.

Bird control mesh- bird control mesh is just like bird control netting except that it is metal and does not require much of a frame, yet it does produce even more of the shadow. Just like netting it does not change the behavior the birds, it merely blocks them out. Bird control mesh is the right product to use in some situations, again it is typically overused and ineffective when not used appropriately. It is recommended to use a stainless steel variety that will not rust with small enough squares to keep out bats as well as birds. Which is a problem with using chicken wire, it will allow in small birds and bats while looking unprofessional.
